Trina Solar Race Car Goes to Egypt

Trina Solar Limited, a global leader in solar photovoltaic modules, solutions and services, recently went to Egypt to promote the use of its solar-powered race car.

“We went to Egypt with a convincing capabilities demonstration of our Solar Race Car, which is powered entirely by the most efficient silicon solar cells made by Trina Solar and our high-efficiency Interdigitated Back Contact (IBC) solar cells,” announced Trina Solar in a statement.

This solar car, which used the solar resource in the Sahara Desert of Northern Africa, is capable of operating at a speed of more than 100 km/h. The car has already won two FIA Alternative Energy races in Suzuka, Japan, in 2015 and 2016.

“Africa is the ‘next’ continent with a huge need for clean power and distributed generation, but also with huge potential. As a leading solar energy total solutions provider in the world, Trina Solar is well positioned to deliver solar energy to benefit the development of Africa,” adds the statement.
