Top health and safety employers honoured
The Federated Employers’ Mutual Assurance Company (FEM) has been licenced to transact workmen’s compensation insurance claims for the building and construction industry since 1936 – so it knows first-hand how important occupational health and safety is.
They promote excellence in these fields and the company recently honoured 31 of its policyholders for achieving high standards of health and safety in the workplace. The winners were announced at a gala event at Summer Place in Johannesburg on September 27.
The awards programme followed strict risk assessment criteria in 13 categories, with each company graded and given a risk rate determined by its accident frequency and loss ratios. The top awards assessed the performance of policyholders who have been with the organisation for at least 10 years.
