Taking green driving hire
Visiting France for those with a green conscience need not lead to distress, as Citroën is now offering a greener alternative to traditional car hire.
Available from six agencies in the Paris region – the Gare Montparnasse, Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord train stations, Orly airport, Porte Maillot and Nanterre – and to be gradually made available in other French cities, the Citroën C-ZERO can now be rented from Citroën Multicity for €35 per half day.
Citroën Multicity is a transport hire service by Citroën, the first automotive brand to support such a service, with a range of transport models. It now offers the C-ZERO as an all-new, full-electric rental option in partnership with National/Citer. This is a four-seater, four-door city car that offers its occupants the same levels of comfort they are used to both in-town and beyond town. Fully electric, it offers a top speed of 130 km/h, has a range of up to 150 km and can be charged using a regular socket. Plus, renting it in Paris will entitle the driver to two hours free parking at pay sites within the city.
Charging time takes six hours from a 16 amp 220 volt household outlet, or 30 minutes from a specific 125 amp single-phase terminal, meaning the renter can be back to circling the Arc de Triomphe after a quick cup of coffee at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
