SA mine safety record remains
Life is full of firsts, most of which we’ll remember for some time. For the team from COBA Plastics, OSH Expo Africa 2014 was just that.
“This was the first time we attended and exhibited at an OSH Expo Africa event, and it definitely won’t be the last!” says Charlene Petzer, head of the Matting Division at COBA Plastics. “The show created a great networking platform and allowed us to introduce COBA’s unique offering of safety and industrial matting and flooring to the industry’s key decision-makers,” she continues.
COBA has one of the largest ranges of safety and industrial matting and flooring products in the country. “We offer a variety of products and believe strongly in supplying application-specific products,” says Petzer.
“Whether it is to reduce the risk of slipping on potentially treacherous surfaces, or to provide fatigue relief for standing operatives, COBA has the matting solution for greater safety and comfort in the workplace.”
COBA was the only exhibitor showcasing floor-level safety at OSH 2014, where it introduced its Industrial Safety Matting range. Its anti-fatigue matting is comfortable to stand on and reduces the impact from standing on hard surfaces, which can lead to irreversible health conditions.
“Health and safety is certainly being turned up a notch,” notes Petzer. “OSH Expo Africa had very informative seminars, educating the industry on the importance of health and safety and creating awareness on products available in this field. More importantly, though, it reached the correct players in the market as key decision-makers attended the show,” she continues.
That’s just one of the reasons why OSH 2014 was COBA’s first, but certainly not its last!
