Learn to work at heights – properly
South Africa’s Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 states that all work done at a height of over two metres requires a fall protection plan – including equipment, training, procedures and methods to address relevant risks. Now, NOSA offers a “Working@Heights” solution to help customers easily and proficiently address these needs.
Opened on August 16, the Centurion-based Working@Heights Training Academy is the first of its kind in South Africa to offer practical working-at-heights training. The facility is aligned with NOSA’s stringent safety standards, and uses state-of-the-art equipment from SGB-Cape and Tractel.
Says NOSA MD Justin Hobday: “NOSA is a member of the Institute for Working at Heights in the Height Safety and Specialist Fall Arrest Chamber, and provides a full spectrum of height safety services.” These range from basic working-at-heights training and SETA-accredited advanced fall-arrest rescue courses right through to installations of safety system fall-protection plans and the provision of height safety equipment.
The new facility brings the total number of NOSA offices in southern Africa to 30.
